Wanna meet at the Split Crow at 5pm for a beer?

(Yes, it's *that* important to be on the front page)

You may already know that the HBC allows you to sign up for SMS updates on Bridge conditions. But why did they make the interface so shitty? They send you a message, to which you need to SMS back "Read" to get the actual alert. WTF?! Somewhere a developer or product manager needs to be beaten.

Hi there! Long time no post. I'm back for some blatant self-promotion ... so please indulge my offenses.

MyDarkSecret.com is an online Murder Mystery Dinner Party game that I've been working on for a while now. In this game, you are a suspect in a murder mystery and have to role play with others to find the real killer and not get accused yourself! Perhaps you are the culprit?

I've set up a special (free!) game called "Clam Enchanted Evening" for Spine.cx members.
Pub Crawls

The 1st Halifax Santa Pub Crawl. This Saturday. You have to dress like Santa! Here's the tentative List of beer stops:

7 pm The Lower Deck
7:45 pm The Midtown Tavern
8:30 pm The Shoe Shop
9:45 pm The Halifax Alehouse
10:30 pm Tom's Little Havana/Rogues Roost
11:15 pm The Thirsty Duck

It's a great way to start off the holiday season, have some fun and raise a little money for those in need (suggest $5 for the food bank).

You've no doubt heard of Google Wacking, but now there is Google Fight. Pick two words/phrases similiar in context and see which gives the most hits on google.

I just tried Star Trek vs. Star Wars (Star Wars won slightly).

Buy your own 14k gold Lord of the Rings - One Ring. Hey, it's only $299 US and only comes in size 10. The perfect accessory for those late night D&D sessions (that, and a life).

Without a doubt, we won the cosmic lottery by being born in Canada. And now, amazingly, the Canadian Government has done something right for a change.

There are now plans to create 10 huge new national parks and five marine conservation areas over the next five years to protect unique landscapes and animals in the world's second-largest country.

As we all know, the Simpsons francise is geared for three movies. A casual friday lunch discussion brought up this question:

If they made the movies, God forbid, live action, with real actors ... who would they choose?

Sept 13: "Test results from the Health Canada lab in Winnipeg indicate this is a presumptive positive case of West Nile Virus," said Dr. Maureen Baikie, associate medical officer of health for the province. "A presumptive positive result means we need a further test to confirm if the bird is infected with West Nile Virus."

Until Aug 27 you can listen to the entire album. Aimee Mann is one of my favorite artists. If you liked the Magnolia soundtrack you'll like this. If you're an 80's child, you'll remember her from Til Tuesday and a duet she did with Rush ("Time Stands Still" I believe).

More artists should do this!
